Inserting Money In The City
In order for Columbus to try to reinvent itself and to bring in more people and jobs, the city has decided that it would be best to reinvest in itself. In other words, they are taking more money from the allotted budget and they are putting it back into the city to use for development and to bring in tourists and other businesses. The whole goal of this plan is to market to people that this needs to be a destination city. A place you will want to go and see and have fun in.
What Is The Plan
Well in essence the hope is that by increasing the amount of money that the city has to spend on development by 4.6 million dollars that it will create the ability to draw in more people and businesses through advertising. They are also hoping that this will have a domino effect as by increasing tourism as well as bringing in new businesses new jobs will be created. This will lead to increased spending and will start to revitalize the economy. However, the most important part is the fact that new jobs will be created. This will mean that less people will be out of work and that the overall plan will have a benefit for many more than just the city itself.
Considering the economic situation of the past four years and the way that it still seems bleak, anything that will boost any type of market and make it more appealing is a good thing no matter where you live.
